About me
I am a self-taught painter who is inspired to create beauty using bold colors and strong emotion. Most of my work is created by layering, rather than blending colors, to achieve my desired effect. I find it exciting to use unconventional colors to paint skin tone and I strive to illuminate what is beyond skin deep.
As humans, we wear our experiences, feelings, and entire lives on our faces. I’m fascinated by the broad spectrum and duality of emotions that we are able to convey and I choose to examine the vastness of the human condition by focusing primarily on faces and feelings to capture a moment in time. I work with a variety of bright and contrasting colors to reflect, influence, and interpret the different moods.
